very cool! from a change-in-ELO perspective, it looks like playing weaker players is generally expected value negative if these win probabilities are valid (https://www.318chess.com/elo.html), since you'd need to be winning 90%+ of games given the points hit of losing. seeing the win-draw-loss rate is interesting; does lichess also show mistakes/blunders broken out in this way too in their analysis feature? that could be even more revealing on the psychology point

I love this point -- had no clue it was something more typical. I think the life lessons still work, but maybe this will help me be a little less harsh on myself when I take an L to a lower-rated player.

I will definitely dig into the pressure elements around blundering. There is a filter called "Phase of Game" that digs into when this happens, and a separate filter for "Time Pressure" -- both definite elements that could help segment when you make mistakes.

Ironically, opening theory has always been my weakest, with endgames being my strongest. Finally building out a sound opening repertoire and getting a way from intuition is a huge next step this year -- and it's playing out over the board too.

Would highly recommend playing around w/ the Chess Insights tool on lichess -- there are so many awesome ways to learn about your own style -- and of anyone else who shares their info.
